We need him now more than ever.

The economy was rolling, and foreign countries were afraid of us. Wouldn't you like to have those days back.

I was in high school when he was elected. Prior to him winning the Presidency, I wasn't at all interested in politics. After watching his administration tear into the Soviets and end the Cold War, I've been a die hard republican ever since. An absolutely remarkable man.

O just pledged one billion in aid, money which must be borrowed from Putin's new best friend. Who are pulling the strings? This is insane. What kind of love triangle is this?

I turned 18 in the fall of '79 so I was eligible to vote for the first time in the 1980 Presidential election. I stood in line at my polling place for over 2 hours to vote for Mr. Reagan and I remember the almost immediate sense of relief and optimism this country felt when he won that day.

He truly was a great American.

Miss him terrible much these days.
What he was, what he stood for, point blank honesty about his beliefs, pride in being an American, wanting all to prosper through their own labor and industry ... the whole deal.

This is one of my favorite videos of him.
It's a very funny comedian performing at a post Presidential function for "Dutch".
The bit to me is hilarious and the worth the watch, but maybe even more I like the cuts to the President while he's watching.
He was just such a genuine guy.
I have the utmost respect for him still today.

It does not matter.

The population has been socially re-engineered

He could not get elected today

x2. Succinct and accurate! Started 80 years ago. Democrats perfected the strategy. Sometimes the Clown agrees with the lion Tamer. ;-)

I often wonder if a Republican can win the Presidency.

Wouldn't need Reagan, if we all had a little more of Jesus.

Well I just got this thread locked...

Reagan was resurrected after "No Time For Bonzo".
He might have been the second coming!!!!
I wouldn't go that far but he was definitely what this country needed at the time.

Things are gonna get worse before they get better.

The next Republican president, whenever he (or she) is elected, will be a moderate, so as to be "electable." The NEXT Republican president will be a bit more conservative in values and politics, but I doubt there will ever be another true conservative Republican president.
