I have a No Doubt heifer out of a VAR Power Play x Saguhatchee cow that goes back to New Design 036. She is pretty heifer, maybe not as nice as her dam. Her dam is everyone’s favorite when they come to my place. It’s time to think of a bull. Any recommendations I want to make beautiful females. My ai rep said he would us Montana Jake , or S Wrangler. Any suggestions? Thanks. AAA # 20930051
 
I like the idea of S Wrangler. The Coalitions I have are attractive cattle. Fertility has been an issue on some of those as well, but I think Wrangler can improve that. I have some neat looking calves by S Armstrong and his sire S Architect too. All are pretty nice calves. Armstrong might throw just a little more attractive look, but I like them all so far.

Um... how would anyone know what to recommend if they haven't seen what you have? What makes her "not as nice" as her dam? Good pictures so we can see her weaknesses?

I had a chance to see Armstrong on the ND Angus tour. Very impressive bull.

Well, between those two options the video I found on S Wrangler was probably more impressive than Montana Jake. Wrangler looked more naturally muscled, whereas M Jake looked pen fat. I'd have guessed from the video that Jake is the taller animal but the paper doesn't denote that.

Are you breeding the heifer to get a live calf or are you flushing her?

I can take her to transova or just ai her. That I haven't decided. What do you think of Showman ?

I just compared Showman to your heifer and that may be a nice mating (both on paper and in terms of pedigree). Plus, he's already in the tank (although I think the bull passed away in case that matters).
