I love liver. I just had a supper of calves liver, lightly floured, salted and fried, stewed squash, sauteed onions and cantaloupe. All home grown, all wonderful. Can it get any better????

Yup, I'm with you on that one. My whole family liked liver so I had a lot of it growing up and Mom was a great cook. My wife hates it so I never get it here, but I order it when we go out once in awhile. Just filled up on fried chicken, mashed taters and gravy and fresh sweet corn, but now you've got me drooling again. ;-)

I love calf liver also. Beef (older animal) liver is a bit too strong for my liking. Don't eat much of it here either, husband can't stand the stuff.

Sunday supper tonight was roast chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mixed vegetables and cranberry jelly. Mmmmm mmmmm good.

Lammie, your sick, sick, sick. Liver, onions and cantalope?

Got a pot of chili going myself. Wish it were cold and wet outside.

We ate liver growing up because it was what my mom set on the table. My kids have no idea what it tastes like. I have never cooked it.

Lutefisk is good for them and they LIKE it!! Someday they will have their people eating it! Besides, it grows hair on your chest and up here in January that can be a real bonus, believe me!

Tonight I had sirloin steak cut into pieces with potato's fried in lard (steak breaded in corn meal) and black eyed peas with okra down in it boiled till the okra is good and slimy .Good enough to to make your tongue slap your brain out .

Beef liver is on the top of my list of favorite foods. There's a mom and pop resturant in Hollypond,Al, Beef liver and onions is Thursday's lunch buffett. It's the only place I can get it since my grandmother passed. My wife wont touch it, much less cook it.

You, sir, don't know what you are missing. It's all good because it was all grown at home. I loved liver as a kid. I never questioned it beacuse I knew where it came from. Liver was plentiful. We ate lots of it. That, and whatever my older brother shot while hunting. We were poor folks.

We weren't poor folks...thank the Lord! But, we (meaning me and my Daddy) loved liver! I haven't eaten it in a long time. Lots of reasons for that...OH WELL!

No Lammie, I do know what I am not missing cause just as in Angie's case, we had to eat it because it was on the table when we were kids. Don't have to eat it now. Made a mistake once at a buffett, didn't read the menu and mistook it for smothered steak. Havn't done that since cause I'm on to that trick. I found the cantelope at the end of your menu getting into a wreck with the liver. Never would have thought of that combo together and it kind of caught me off guard. :D

Sounds good to me! For supper, I had breakfast. Sausage, bacon, eggs and toast.
Here we eat breakfast for supper in the winter. It is a winter meal. We always have fried potatoes with it. It is my "fall back" meal, and some weeks it is served too many times. :help:

i dont like liver of any kind.but my dad loved chicken livers an so did my granpa.but i do love to eat.

I cant wait to get home for the leftovers.

Jo, we have breakfast for supper all the time. I don't have the opportunity to cook breakfast a lot, so we just eat it at night. Spam and Eggs. Biscuits, maybe some gravy if I feel like my arteries aren't clogged enough. Pancakes on occasion. I would rather eat breakfast at night than in the mornings.

Lammie, keep saying that over & over and maybe one day you will believe it.

I can't believe the anti-liver conspiracy out there!!!! I love liver. I love liver. I live for liver. I can't live without a liver...
