I Hate Em

I am battling them like crazy here. They have literally torn up 50 acres of mine. Not a square inch they haven’t rooted up. Game cam says between 10 and 4 am. Tough to be there on time, they have torn up my office yard as well and it’s down town across from all the car dealerships. They don’t care they are everywhere here. Also in E Texas caustic

Nope I'm over 200 this year.
Got a trap wise big boar that I'm going to set a leg throw snare for.
Only way to get him or sit up all night with a thermal.
Can you use a "Judas" pig trained to lead feral hogs into a trap? I suppose that would be labor intensive, but just curious if anyone has ever tried it.

Why do we have a food shortage and hungry people?
The homeless need to learn some skills. Like wild pig processors, BBQ skills.
I know they are not great tasting but it's better than starving...
Homeless people don’t have the guns to kill them (usually) or the place to store the meat….most of the big ones are inedible, but need killing to keep the numbers in check

Yes. I have talked about doing it on a couple forums. We trapped a big boar and fed him for a while. Then we roped him and moved him to the cattle pens. From there I let him out. He would be back in the trap the next night with a pile of pigs. We would shoot out every thing but him, or rope him again, and turn him back out.

Big traps where you can feed and water the pigs and hold them also work amazing. You use a perch trap style door. They just keep coming in. The trap will be wore out around the outside from pigs trying to get in, especially if you get a sow in heat.

Didn't you once say that you had to kill over 100 just to stay status quo on numbers? Seems like it is getting to be higher than that...
If you have 100 you have to kill 80 to stay at 100..
I have have several lunches with the TAMU control team leader.
Problem is it's only a few trying to control an epidemic of the disease carrying beast.
There are very few state disposal sites it is illegal to transport them or release except to a state sanctioned site.
Deer hunters are the enemy here as they are feeding the sow insuring bigger and healthier litters.
Feeders need to be regulated to be enclosed in hog panels secondly the state needs to put a 20-25 dollar bounty per head on them .
I'm in discussions with state representatives about the bounty program.
The state currently has one that's too complicated to draw on as well is not well funded.

My nephew lives south of Tyler. While cussing and discussing pigs on Saturday , he said they've come in and rooted up the athletic fields at his kids' schools.

They've been bad here this fall.....worse than normal.

I see some damage around here from time to time as my Amish neighbor sees them on trial cameras. So far we have more bears than them. The way the hogs reproduce unless it is a team effort it is going to be hard to beat them.
