Guy lives about 4 miles through the woods lost his place moved off and left about 50 cats. Well some have migrated over my way I have had to put the fan belt back on truck three times and clean up the mess in the last couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear that.

Must be tough for the cats too.

They must be very hungry to have migrated 4 miles to your place.

Are they friendly or feral ?

Don't suppose you could trap and transport the cats to your local animal shelter ?

They will be easy to trap since they are so hungry.

Or feed them, tame them a little and then advertise them as "barn cats needing a job" in your local paper ?

I trap, neuter, vaccinate, test for FIV, etc and find new homes for the cats that wander in from the trailer park 2 miles up the road. Gets a bit busy around June.

Just some ideas. Anyone got any other workable thoughts, without mentioning the obvious ?

Number one we don't have an animal shelter number two they are wild as can be.
Number three if they get after the Mrs Bantam's and kill one me and ole Rube will be spending our nights eradicating cats before peace returns to this local.
People that have animals should take care of there animals guy's like the one that left tem should be shot.
People always throw out there dogs here as well .

Caustic, why would you come down on this here board and start " hate-in on the cat". Is the cat my favorite animal? No, because I'm too controlling to appreciate a cat. I do like the cat pics and am working through my inability to control a cat. What ever the thing does just say "good kitty" thereby turning any behavior into a positive one. See Caustic you just need to change your thinking to accommodate the cat.

Beat the rush. Shoot early and often.

Your welcome, if you still can't come to terms with your cat issues, I have a Siberian Husky you can borrow, thats the cat killinest son of a gun you'll ever find. ;-)

well on the bright side if you have that much problem with cats then you evidently don't have much problem with coyotes.

Since coyotes came here we don't have near as much miscelaneous wild life problem as used to be except for skunks. Still got them critters that come round bout twice a week.

Encourage some of the local "foreign exchange students" to come and get all they want of the makings for some exotic hot tamales. When I was a kid the local joke (suspicion), concerning the relative lack of stray dogs & cats, was said to be that the scarcity of dogs & cats was attributable to our town's one lone Mexican tamale saleman with a push cart. :D

Me to I hate em. Wife brought the last "oh its so cute kitten home and promised to take care of it", Dogs like it thought kept it up a tree more than a bird. Then I ended up paying $90 dollars for shots and having it fixed. I guess it liked riding cause it got up in the fan and got 2 legs broke and other damage and got to ride back to vet. (Figured if I was gonna stay in the house better take it to the vet) Vet said it would cost 3 to 5 hundred dollars to fix legs, that was after the 60 dollars in X-rays and office visit. The cat was real upset at the vet so they gave it a shot to knock it out. Well that stuff works until you take them home and do what should have been done in the first place. Would have only cost me about .04 cents. Well Ok I woke cat up on first shot so really would have cost me .08 cents. For those who hate cats the grazing first shot was something to see. :o Anyway the oh so cute kitten cost me lots of money and the wife still gets upset at that story. Got two dogs that hate em too!!!! The last one they stretched till it exploded!!!!!! Man I hate a cat!!!

Oh yeah spray painted a black cat silver on time, seen one eat to many deer trimmings and was constapated for about 4-5 days. Cat sh@t (nope it couldn't) :lol2:

First of all ~ Peg bless your heart.

That being said, I love cats. I have 2 and I love them. I understand why CB has to shoot them ~ I mean, they are wild and destructive. It is actually a humane option in my opinion.

Wick ~ please seek medical/psychological attention at your soonest convenience. Really.

The wife brought home a kitten not long after we got married. Coming from a cat hating family I told her to get rid of it. She said if I didn't like it I could go back home to my momma. That was 35 years and too many cats to count ago. I actually love cats now as long as they are inside cats. Outside cats make good target practice.

C B, to get that horrid smell out of your truck-have a bee keeper come over and set his smoker in it for about 30 minutes.
I have had some bad skunk experiences in my van and have found that a bee keepers smoker is the only way to eliminate/minimalize the smell.

For all you deviate cat owners--here is an interesting video that you should watch:

Enjoy.

every one has their like and dislikes, I love cats, and dislike dogs, but would never do one any harm, I absolutly hate seagulls with a vengance but would not hurt one. I just feel live and let live....There must be someone who can come out and get them, we have the RSPCA I'm sure you have an equivalent over there who would help you out.

I hope your inside cats do their business outside there is nothing worse than a litter box.

I love my cat and hubby does also it is the first cat we have taken to, but he does not act like a cat he acts like a dog even tries to herd the cows.

If fifty cats showed up here uninvited the dogs and kit cat would take care of a few (not by my choice) and I would have the humane society come get the rest and I would help find homes for them.

I do not justify killing for the sake of killing that is a major problem in the world already it starts with an animal and the leads to a human life.
