I admit it, I'm a bad person

Had a guilt trip thrown on me first thing Monday morning and the more I think about it the more I wonder if I'm the only sane person left on the planet or I have become I'm just a bad person and the guilt should just gnaw me to pieces and I should maybe do some form of pennance for my blatant transgressions.

Someone came to me wanting to buy something that I didn't exactly want to sell but I guess everything is for sale so I entertained the notion. Unfortunately, after about six weeks he and I just couldn't come together on a price and he was several thousand dollars under what I thought was fair. He said he had stretched things as far as he possibly could and could not possibly pay a penny more so we parted without making a deal.

Being in my area you can hear anything but change jingling or bacon frying so another fella caught wind of it and after a couple of weeks talking he agreed to meet my price and we struck a deal. But as everyone knows the wind blows both ways and it wasn't long before the first fella caught wind of the trade and I assume he stewed over it all weekend and called me first thing Monday morning to ask how I could have done him that way? Have I lost my sanity or just become a bad person?

I told you I was stretched thin. You just didn't want to play my game. I've got more nuts to squirrel away

Perhaps both?

If he said he would not pay your price and you did not hear from him for some time, you owe him nothing.

John, I watched that last night. Looks like its turning into family feud.

Maybe he is entitled to more than just a fair deal and I didn't realize it. :D

Why would they only talk to you? I am not jealous, I am happy that the left me alone for the better part of a week!

Tomorrow I should have a check in my hand and the whole thing will be over and done with. I'm sure I'll be bashed for how $hitty I treated this guy but it just doesn't make any sense. He said no. I guess he wanted me to horse trade and it back fired on him. That's the only thing I can think of. I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it this way. Beginning to think we need to test the water in the aquifer around here.

He was trying to steal it and now he's jealous. I did the same thing with a tractor, told the old boy what I wanted and it was to much. Took it to the auction last week and got 1k more than what I told him. Everything I have ain't worth nothing, and anything I want to buy is the best.
Never been good at trading, just don't have the patience to put up with people.

Well, #1 wasn't able to meet your price deal over. #2 was able to meet your price, deal done. I don't see a problem with it....I guess that makes me a bad person also.

edited because I forgot to ad "me" to the last sentence.

If something is for sale at a certain dollar figure, then the first person to show up with the money is the new owner. There could be many lookers, there is only one buyer. Your a looker till you spend cash.

You're taking a check??????

?!?!

What's wrong with a check?
I tagged on w/ Hook (I think it was Hook?) before I saw your next post. If you know the guy, probably nothing wrong. If you don't . . . free stuff for him until you can track him down and go through court with him, to see if you ever get the $$, or can get the property back.
