If you wanted to disappear from society, not off grid in the Yukon, but to live a reclusive life and no paper trail so to speak
Lets use the rumor about the affordable care act and the microchip you're to be implanted with that has your medical records

If you wished not to be apart of such things, how would you disappear, but yet still maintain a somewhat normal lifestyle.

I swear Gimpy I'll blow out you candle if you say a word

Interesting question. Illegal aliens do it, so I guess it could be done, but we actually know who they are and where they live. To disappear like you are talking about seems next impossible. You or I would really stick out working for cash etc. Even to live a reclusive lifestyle would actually garner attention.

To go off the grid would be a lot harder than you think. The only way is if you stockpiled ammo, food stuff, medical etc.and moved to the Rockies as a total recluse with no human interaction. The minute you have any interaction with people you are back on the grid and can be tracked down.

The conspiracy talk is without the chip you will be outlawed and you'd be " flagged" at every public facility as every establishment will have a reader, even the gas pumps.
Without a chip a routine traffic stop would warrant a trip to jail and not released without a chip
Cash will soon be obsolete and electronic funds will only accepted, so no cash jobs.
No and land ownership or house, car and etc without the chip
Same goes with selling anything since cash will be obsolete.

I thought about it some and I don't see away around it
I'm not saying it will happen tomorrow but it'll come some day

I hope we will take back our country before that happens. It's like we're not free anymore, kinda sad to think that way.

Sorry my friend but I have to. Don't snuff me out yet. What you want is basically my plan. Basically disappear. I've been working toward that end for a few years now. I'm debt free, own 300+ acres 45 mile from of my present rural oregon town. I will be off grid so no issues with those records or control. Well water. Rain water and grey water catchment systems. Raise a few meet and egg livestock. Plenty of wild game on site. We plan on a greenhouse to extend our short growing season. Few neighbors but the one's there are all pretty private and secluded. I will maintain a vehicle so there will be those records. Haven't figure out a way to avoid that for us yet. But I will have only as much contact with others that I want. Most of my neighbors are also larger property owners I can't see any of them from where we'll be. I have been collecting ammo, guns and knives my whole life. We're building a real log home with the trees from our property and we will build it all by our own hands. All debt free. I will continue to collect things and stuff toward that end. Many visits to the local recycler. You'd be surprise what you can get for cheap if you see the need. Things I need and things I want to barter with. I will have my portable lumber mill, splitter, a couple of pieces of equipment all for use toward the end goal. If you're willing to live a simple and frugal life, you can do it on much less than I have. I think cash is the key. No credit or records.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Good luck my friend.

Cash is key I agree with that statement. I know I am one of the few that still use cash.
We have let the government take over our lives through technology and the school system, they can monitor everything we do.
This movement is in the TV, cell phone, computer, car we drive you name it. The kids are already being tracked at school, the indoctrination has begun. This is Orwellian at it finest. People have been convinced they cant live without it. I was in the doctors office the other day and every person in the waiting room was playing on an Iphone except me. Look at our news media it no longer reports news, it reports how you should think according to the political leaning of the current station you are watching. There are subliminal messages in the programming of the shows promoting certain political leanings, propaganda down to the scientific level. I see this playing out two ways revolt or chattel and the extinction of those that don't comply. What the NSA is doing should scare every American to death no matter their political leaning.
I think next election cycle every incumbent should be booted out as they no longer represent the people but the pockets of those who own them. Both parties scare the crap out of me with the democrats having a good lead, they have Plantation politics down to an art with us all being slaves of the ruling class. Once Obamacare gets into full effect the end is near they will have complete control of every aspect of our life. We are being sold on the auction block no different than slave trade in the 1800's. The Plantation owners will control every aspect of our lives up to and including our death.

Interesting question, Cross. We took a two week vacation to the western US this year and I was really surprised to see how many folks live "off the grid" in Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. In Arizona you could drive for miles and not see a single utility pole yet many shacks with tanks for collecting rain water, etc. As far as hoarding ammo that's already being done but I don't know how you would just simply drop off the radar screen - completely. Chipping individuals? I don't think it will ever come to that, at least not for this old fart.

The microchip or whatever new technology will be implemented, you and I may not see it or again at the rate we're going we might

Short of living underground like a hermit with no outside contact, I can't see how one could function
It makes me fearful for my children and their children

How are you going to pay your property taxes on that 300 acres?

My question exactly backhoe.

You're also not technically "off the grid" since you own property and will owe taxes on the property.

I do like a lot of your other ideas, gimpy.

You can't own property ie land because you don't exist since you don't have a chip, you can't own a vehicle since you can't register it, buy fuel and etc because you don't have a chip
The only form of currency will be electronic, so you couldn't "pay" for it anyway cause you don't have a chip, therefore you don't exist and no way function in society.
The most important things in your life will be food, shelter and not being discovered
It would sure be simpler to just get the chip, but in my mind I know what the chip represents and at that point there is no salvation

Black market. If (when, perhaps..) all of this comes down, there will always be pockets of resistance who will learn to work together.
You'd never make it completely alone, nor would you need to. Much as they might try, it would never be possible to control everyone all the time.
You wouldn't have to disappear completely, just stay off the radar. Cash, or currency in one form or another, will never disappear completely, it just may take a different form.

I won't be able to disappear, but I can severely limit contact.

Depends on what you mean. Pay cash annually to the county?

The taxes on my property is half what I used to pay on a 1000sf condo in CA. My taxes won't go unpaid.

If I can't earn enough to pay my taxes, it's time to sell. But I don't see that happening with so many trees and a logger living next door. Plus, I plan to have my portable mill and splitter running to help out. Wild game is always another commodity/opportunity on a neighborhood basis.

After 60 years of acquiring and collecting, there's always something to sell to buy something else.

We live so simply/cheaply now that we'll be okay. I think my family has always planned and taught us this way.

Put your money into tobacco and coffee. You'll always find willing traders. If you can grow corn, a little liquor might be a hot seller.

Make mead. Far less technical and less work than hard liquor.

I knew a guy here who dropped off the radar screen. He picked brush, sold firewood, and picked wild mushrooms all for cash. He raised pretty much all of his own food. He bought his clothes at the Goodwill for pennies on the dollar. His house and land were paid for and he paid taxes in cash. He didn't meet your hypothetical question regarding a society with no cash and an a clip implanted. And with the electronic age we are now in they may have come looking for him. In the 70's, 80's, and 90's he dropped out of sight of the government. He had not filed income tax for years and they never came looking for him.

You mean poaching on wild game? How are you gonna keep all foods stay fresh if there are no bills to pay? Also....you got the internet.

On one of my pieces of ground there was a guy who lived in a treehouse for a few years before I bought it. He had three camps on three different ridgelines, two of which were never found. He was half indian and by everyone's best guess he was trading pelts to them for whatever he needed that wasn't available from the land.
The only reason he was caught is that the sheriffs office flew over a spring looking for dope growing sights they saw him filling jugs and when they set down to make contact he was found to have a sawed off shotgun(illegal in CA). They made the arrest on the shotgun and it took them a month of having him in custody to figure out who he was and by that time he'd told a few other inmates the whole story.
