Recently bought a 2 year old bred cow.. Her breeding is good, but the real interest is the calf she is carrying (confirmed 3 months prego) and after, she would be in the herd with out bull and just take it from there.
After getting her to the house we had her with another cow/calf that was a show heifer so she is pretty calm. She seemed to be coming along but would always be a little high headed at times but would still eat out of your hand.
Took her to the farm with the same cow/calf and kept them in the holding pens for a couple of weeks so the rest of the herd could seem them, etc.. Well the wife just turned them out and she shot out like her hair was on fire. Our fences are ok, but worried that she will be gone.. got her back into the pen but wife is pissed (which gets taken out on me). Question is will she eventually settle down or will she always be a wild one?
Might just take her back to the house and let her have the calf there and if still crazy, then sell her...just not sure.
