I need to cut a 1/2 inch diameter steel Hydraulic line. Any recommendations on what to cut it with do you think a tubing cutter might work. Reason to cut it is to install an inline filter to protect the steering motor. Also to put a filter in line to clean the fluid from the transmission to the oil cooler. Would like to cut it without removing from the tractor..

Steel line I would cut with grinder and cuttoff like fence said. I Assume you have the flaring tool or compression fitting and High pressure filter already ??

If it were mine I would just have hoses made.

Go to TSC and get a hose already made with the ends on it. Probably be half price what they charge to make it.

I have the filters and swagelok fittings. The filter has 9/16 -18 threads for a o ring fitting on filter.
