Hydraulic hose I can't get out

Yea, ashamed to post this one. No matter what implement is hooked to my tractor, the hoses are nearly impossible to get out of the tractor. Now I've got my hay rake hooked on, and I've one hose I don't think is going to come out at all. Pressure on the hoses is not the problem. What in the world is the problem.

Check for burrs on the male plug side once you get them out.

If the remotes on your tractor have the shaft that goes thru the housing you can take a pry bar and push on the back side and it should pop out.

A cat claw nail puller works well if it real tight behind it. Once you get it out spray it good with carb cleaner and insert it and remove it several times do not use any grease or oil on it or it will continue to gum up.

You said that pressure is not the problem. Let the rake down turn the tractor off. Move the remote lever back and forth and then try pulling the hyd hose. Actual give the hose a quick pop. Should come out.

Also have you made a tight turn and got the hose caught in the tractor wheel. This will warp the female side of the connector. If so a new male and female connector will be required. Guess how I know this.

Naw, all 4 hook ups are always a huge pain to get out. You almost dread hooking anything to it.

I have a few fittings that 'work', but aren't exactly the right type, if you apply too much flow to them they'll totally block, it's real fun. However, perhaps your connectors are just a slightly different type?

How are they to get on?

If they're on a breakaway system, just pull the hitch pin and drive off.. let the breakaway do it's job.. VOILA! OK, don't do that part :hide:

It doesn't take but 30-50 lbs of pressure to hold 2 hydraulic fittings together.
