I don't know why he likes to ignore my advice and ideas, but you would think he would learn after 14 years together.

Well today we went and looked at a very old horse that the owner is just giving away. For some reason, I still haven't figured out, my husband wanted to sit on her. Now this horse is in her 20's and not very big.
Told him that was not a good idea due to her age.
Doesn't listen, so he hops up on this poor horse and sits there.
A few other factors in this are, we are out in a large pasture and there are 3 very nasty spoiled horses and a couple of nicer horses there.
Two of the spoiled horse's get in a fight over some feed the owner has put on the ground and ram right into this little mare, who jumps forward to get out of the way and promptly dumps my husband on the ground.

Later on he looks at me and says that he will never get back on a horse again.
Told him ok sell your horse and stay off of mine. He changed his tune. :?

Couldn't really see his face because he landed on his side, bruised or cracked a rib or two. Won't see a doctor, so no idea which it is.

I'm now ready to drop kick him. He just sold a bunch of pit run gravel to a neighbor, now this is the same neighbor that tresspasses during hunting season and left me 3 miles from home with a broke down truck. :devil2:

Must be the full moon coming on.

As a wife with 15 years of experience, (only one more than you), they rarely heed our advice. Some things just will never change. I have resigned my self to this lessson that has hit me up side the head with a 2x4 time and time again.

If the couples around here are any indication, you have another 11 years (at least) to go before he starts attaching any value to your input - it's just a man thing. ;-) :???:

Maybe he is tired of listening to your prattle snd has just learned to tune you out.

i bet he had a funny look on his face sitting there on the ground after being dumped.

I been dumped more than a few times and I had a funny look on my face ever time.
Now you be careful. We'd all sure hate to see somebody like you become a statistic.

Wife says the same thing about me. "you don't listen to a thing I say" I do listen but sometimes I ignore, she likes to shoot from the lip so to speak. But I have to admit (grudgingly) that she is right sometimes.. Togeather we get things worked out pretty good.

I can say after 25+ years of marriage, that I am one of those husbands that "listens selectively" . She knows not to talk much to me when the Oklahoma Sooners are playing football, or when I make up my mind to do something with the cattle.
I am considerate of what my wife has to say... but not when I have made up my mind to do something I want to do. And I dont want to hear "I told you so"...and she knows it. I dont think most men wanna hear that sort of thing. "prattle".. thats a good word Dun.

Okay this thing is starting to sound like one of those man vs woman things. I personally don't appreciate "anyone" nattering on and on at me whatever sex they may be.

I thought the whole "not listening" was in the male job discription--along with the "not seeing the Dr" thing :lol2:

Misty... .I think it started out as a wife vs husband thing.

Did someone just say something to me? :lol2:

Naw, your right, it did, it was just that all you guys were weighing in on your experiences, just thought I would share my 2 cents. :D

HD he got up on his knees after awhile and told the guy we would take her. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: He had already told him that.
Then the rest of the way home he kept asking me if those two other horses really rammed into her, I think after the 6th time he asked, and I had answered him already, that I finally snapped YES! at him. He told me I didn't have to snap at him. Yes I do it's the only way he hears me. Going to send him to a hearing specialist to get his ears checked to see if he is going deaf in one ear.

No Dun it's not from me nagging him either. I ask him if he has time.
I've found that nagging gets nothing done, threaten to call the contractor and things get done. :lol2:
Or get it started and be doing it wrong, that works too. Like changing oil in the trucks, I hate it when I spill oil on the floor or when my hat falls off and I run my hair into the creepers wheels. So I do it "wrong" and he takes over. :lol2: :lol2:
