How's your weather today?

I always keep a weather log during the growing season. Slightly dry. A little over 3 inches fell each month- April-May-July and so far in August. We had over 6 inches in June that made a nice cutting of hay. Its been mostly cool in the low 80s. We are just coming out of our heat wave, 4 days over 90 degrees with 97 on Saturday. 70s and overcast on Sunday.
Gardens (and rabbits) have borne abundantly with the lack of heavy downpours. This kept the tilth good in the garden soil and did not drown rabbits in their nests.
Grass never really got going this year with late frosts and heavy grazing pressure. I have many fields I have yet to bushhog for that reason.

Weather is about to change………the rooster didn't bark until 5:41 this morning. Sitting here in my morning chair looking at the sky, had to go back inside to fetch my sleeves. A ripe 56 this morning (13 for y'all Canadian freaks)

71 here, 100 later today. Not much has changed except it's not 80 already.

Beautiful cool 54 this morning... no humidity... sun comes up later for sure. Going up to upper 80's today, back into low 90's for most of next week they say but no moisture in the forecast. Going to be cutting a bunch of orchard grass for hay today, for small sq bales for horse customers. Sadly got alot of horse nettle in patches in it son says.
Beautiful "Blue Moon" , super moon the last couple nights.

Cloudy and 58 this morning. I heard some far off thunder during the night but it doesn't look like it rained any here.

Rained most of 3 days and much cooler at 42f this morn, snow above 4k ft. no frost on pumpkin yet. Grass growing at a crawl

I'm seeing only slightly less hot but just as dry days and nights. I have tho, seen an increase in both the number of clouds in the sky and more curious still, a lot more hummingbirds which is odd for 1st week of Sept.


Why is it, that even on a mostly cloudy day, the sun still rarely 'goes behind a cloud"?

Got lucky and was part of the 40% chance of rain last evening. Another 1/2". Not much, but anything helps at this point
