How do you feed a Angus/Holstein heifer without getting her fat? She'll be a breeder.

If she is weaned put her on grass and leave her - she will do fine.

By knowing what her nutritional requirements are for whatever stage of development/life cycle she is in, what your grass or hay provides in the way of protein and total digestible nutrients (TDN), how much protein/energy any grain you might be using provides, and feeding her the proper blend of all feedstuffs to allow her to properly develop, or maintain her condition if she is closer to reaching mature status. Weanling heifers generally require a somewhat different balance than yearlings, or 2 year olds, and a bred heifer, or a heifer raising a calf usually benefit from yet a different feed program. You might want to consider talking to your extension office or vet on where your heifer is, and what she needs in the way of nutrition/feed to get some pointers.
