Pretty big regardless who is responsible for it. Its very plain that its a case of C.Y.A_ _ syndrome from the higher ups at the packing plant. Anyone that believes the higher ups did not know about this still believes in the tooth fairy.

I agree Dusty the higher up's new exactly what was going on. I think this slaughter house should be shut down completely. This is going to have a bad effect on all slaughter houses and cattle raisers.
This type of treatment is unnessary and shouldnt be done. Even butchering sick cows should not be done.

I feel its bad anuff to mishandle the animal and treat it the way they treat them. I know they are cattle right they have there moments when they just push you, but they are animals too. Plus I mean their fixin to be slaughtered. But the main point is that the animal is sick or has other problems in which should be treated before the time of slaughter to know the meat that is going in to the food chain is safe to be consumed by people. If the packing plant is the one who get someone sick it really doesnt fall on the slaughter house it falls on us the ranchers and the people who make our living raising and selling cattle. It hurts us the most, because the public get worried and we see the worst end of the deal the prices at the sale barn drop. :cry2:

:mad: I be thinkin at least some a the fault falls upon those what let an amimal get in that bad a shape before takin it in. I seen em come ta tha local sale barns in so bad a shape that even the auctioneers ask the folks ta please do somethin before they animal gets that bad. :mad:

Just speculation on my part, but I'm guessing the two people who got fired were doing what they were told. Probably under some serious time constraints and were told to do whatever it takes to move things along. If they refuse, they get fired. If they do it, and get caught by an outfit like HSUS, they get fired so someone higher up can cover their rear. Darned if you do and darned if you don't.

No one is forced to do wrong. They may be told to do wrong but there are alternate ways to evade doing the wrong thing.

What ever happened to employees being the whistle blowers on companies that are doing wrong ?
