One of our cows udders look like it is about to explode. Have been that way a week or so I think. Any ideas on how soon she should calve once the udders get that full? A week? Days? Longer?

You answered your first question with your second question. It may be days, a week or longer. Depends on the cow. T omake things even more fun, they don;t necesarrily do it the same every year and some don;t bag till after they've calved

We just had a cow that was bagged up for several weeks before the calf came. One thing to watch for is the cow will probably begin to separate herself from the others just before calving. Ours didnt come out of the woods for a couple days and then one morning came out with a calf following her.

Yep.. as Dun said, some cows get really huge bags one year, then the next not until after the calf is born do they "swell" up.
If your cow is already carrying a really big bag, it shouldnt be long. Just keep an eye out for mastitis.

Also check her for her "loose" back-end... usually the looser it gets, the closer she is...
