Is it to late to plant some green beans and sweet corn?

Just thinking that what I have planted may not be enough for canning.

This is the first year for me in gardening so be gentle.
Everthing that I have planted so far is doing great.

Only one way to find out - we have not started yet - but we are a lot farther north.

I say go for it!

Bez!

About 53 days is about the shortest sweet corn you can get.
So you might be pushing it. But we just got ours in last week so you won't be alone.
Grn beans your good to go

I went ahead and planted them, guess we will see.

Thanks, just wanted to see if I was the only one planting some late stuff.

my wife just planted some of our sweet corn last thursday so you sure aint the only one planting late

Around here, it is too late, but maybe not where you are. Gardens fizzle early in the Texas heat. The only things I have past June are okra and some maters. I am hoping that the green beans will still keep going. I didn't do watermellon this year. Takes up too much room. Same for cantalope. Love 'em, but the farmer's market has them better than I can grow.

it wasn't too bad when I had my children here...11 kids can get a lot of chores done...now its just me and my wife to do all the chores :( ...yep...im getting old...it aint too bad when school is in because them kids flock to my house asking if they can help me around the farm...(if they got farmwork to do then they only have to go school from 7:30 til 9:30)...so that gives them a reason to want to help out :D

when I went to school we didn't even have a real school here yet...we went to the Stonewall Jackson Ruritan club for school :D ...then we got out and ran home and change and ran back to the Ruritan Club for church :)

The frost and a freeze is what stops the garden here, we can plant beans and corn up to the first of August in Kentucky. We
have hot dry weather in july and early august. This will give you beans and corn up to frost.
