pretty sure it's a 4 ft+ copperhead. My brother stepped OVER it before I noticed it and pointed it out!

You guys may be right-now that I look, the pattern is different. At one point, we thought it might have some rattles on its black tail...but we thought for sure it would have rattled rather than just let my brother step over it and keep on walking. It was surprisingly non-aggressive and not threatened by us at all.
