Has anyone tried this seed from Tractor Supply? I just bought some Bahia from my feed store and it's $150/50 down here. I saw this Horse Max stuff in TSC for $92/50. I have a horse pasture behind the house I would like to experiment with some seed in. Even thought about putting some of Bermuda seed down and see what works best in my dust field.

We already have a 3 inch deficit in rain this year and we were 11 inches behind at the end of 06.

I kind of want to get stuff lined up in case we do get some rain. I am putting the Bahia in the pasture that the hogs tore up.

They might be trying to sell you some form of fescue(max Q) as horse max.It aint going to do to good Florida .I think sometimesTSc ships stuff to areas that it shouldnt .Dont know about there but the folks that work at the one near me dont know $h#t.I still love the place but you have to take it for what it is.

Oh, I agree with the "don't know stuff" :-) I like it because there are no places near me for odds and ends parts for tractors and equipment. The nearest tractor dealer is 80 miles. I also like being able to buy my fence staples, nuts, bolts, and screws by the pound instead of each.

Yeah it is similar to max Q from what I read on the bag. Maybe I will just stick with the Bahia and try a little of the new Bermuda seed just to see what it does.

Nothing against you, or any city farmer, and I also pick up odds and ends there myself. But be careful.

I think they should rename the place City Farmer Don,t Know Squat Store. Somebody is capitaliseing on that fact an makeing a killing. Wish it was me that thought of it.

Plan ahead, drive a little further, talk to an ag. agent, buy what works. It's cheaper in the long run.

Agree 100 % nova. But some-things are a good bit cheaper there.I guess its because of the bulk deal.As far as seed ,fertilizer, etc.I wouldnt buy a pack of sunflower seeds there.
