Have been told this is a good ration for 200 lb holstein calves. 45% rolled corn 25% DDG 30% ground alfalfa and a byproduct supplement. Just wanted to know your thoughts. thanks
 
Just guessin I would say that is pretty good, I don't know the specs of the ground alfalfa. When they get closer to 300lbs I would start pulling the alfalfa out, I'm assuming it's costly. We use corn and a commercial calf pellet to 300lbs, then they go on the distillers and high moisture corn with a byproduct pellet.

I wouldn't be feeding junk hay to young calves. They should be getting high quality hay at that age because their intake is very limited.
