Are you a hoarder?

Not so much in the house as in the garage and behind the garage, was looking at the pile today wondering if it should be sorted and sent to scrap metals. I can't seem to throw away off cuts of metal etc, always comes in handy at a later stage.....but it does not look too good. Maybe just cover it up :P

Yes I am guilty, I am half buzzard alway's looking for more.
I have a stack of telephone poles for corner post, salvaged all the pipe when the where replacing the bridges on the county road. Have had the drilling rig's give me left over drill stem. Anything I think might be used I bring it home.

I'm also guilty, especially metal. One barn has not been totally cleaned out since I have owned the place.

Junk iron is not junk. I use to darn much of it to throw it away. My piles always dwindle down to nothing until I talk somebody else out of a pile.

A neighbor lady was hauling off a pile to the scrap yard. Good stuff. I paid scrap yard prices. Built two kids picnic tables out of the 1 by 2 short iron. Put wheels on them too. She wanted to buy one when she saw them.

I prefer the term "acquirer" heard it called "repurposer" the other day, wife calls me a packrat"

I agree, scrap iron isn't junk. It's more like art. Don't cover it up.

The guy that cut and welded that sunflower thought it looked good painted green and yellow.
I thought different. I fixed it by painting it rust colored.

Ga--Why do you have a perfectly 3 point good dirt scoop and bicycle in your scrap iron pile??
;-)

I already know the probable answer--- (I'm going to fix that some day)

GP, the sunflowers reminded me of something. You didn't by chance pick up some wind chimes from that guy that made the sunflowers that are made out of old acetelyne and oxygen tanks did you? They are very loud. Sound about like a gong in a Tibetan monestary.

you sure you aint from AL. cause you could pass for a neighbor......................on any side :cowboy:

My GF is a hoarder. Her house is neat and a pin. Actually too clean for the likes of me. But her attached two car garage is absolutely stacked to the raffers. She has two chest freezers that you have to climb over a pile of stuff to get to. Then while sitting on one freezer open the other. I will say something like I need a new can openner. She will say she has three brand new ones out in the garage....... good luck finding them.

:lol2: I didn't get the wind chimes but he's probably the same guy. He makes a lot of different stuff.

That's a dangerous looking sunflower Ga. This subject would actually make quiet a good photo contest :D

I'm living with a hoarder-- and its getting worse all the time.
Not fun.
Started with keeping things he might need some day-- to keeping trash.
they are like treasures to him, but they are piled up to the point he doesn't know what is there anymore and it would take forever to find it if he did want it.
We watched a hoarding show and he thought they were nuts-- and hes well on his way to join them and can't see it in himself and his junk piles.
Now hes going thru household trash and picking out stuff to keep, and is trying to hoard in the house. Its a constant battle now.
