Here's a picture of my daughter showing her ring off to her boyfriend. My baby girl is growing up. The parents would pick the ring up and meet their child in the middle of the gym. And then present the ring to their child. It was a really nice evening. But what I did notice is there's a lot of single parents, and a lot of grandparents raising kids now a days. The white kids had better than a 2 to 1 average for having both of their parents present. It makes me sad to think about what some parents and kids have to deal with. But you could see the love and pride in everyone's eyes.

My best friend's parents raised their granddaughter (his niece) as well.. Her mother was pretty young, single, dad was out of the pictures and they took her in.. I think that still beats adoption, but for the grandparents, just when you figure you've got the demons out of your house, here comes another!

My son is 10, he had a couple of buddies over a couple weekends ago. I didn't know the kids very well, only knew one of their parents. One of the young men really seemed to be excited about being out on the farm, and that sort of thing. I asked him what kind of outdoor activities he did at home. He told me what might have been one of the saddest stories I ever heard. He said he and his mother lived alone, and she works 3pm-11pm. He said he comes in and locks the door, and stays in the house untill she she gets in.

Congratulations! You have a very pretty daughter. They grow up too fast. Seems like only yesterday that our daughter got her high school ring and we were at her ceremony. Then seems like not too many years that I was at the ring tea getting my college ring. In high school we did not have a ceremony, but I remember quite well the day that we ordered them and the day they came in. That was fifty years ago. We did not get them until the year that we were seniors.

It is very sad that there are so many one parent homes, and children being raised by grandparents. Talked to a 61 year old lady last Sunday that is having to raise her two young grandchildren. I really feel for her.

I also did mean to say it's a good picture with good subjects, but what's with the head and purplish aura behind the boyfriend?
It does seem to me like yesterday that my friend and I were carrying his niece through a shopping center by her arms because otherwise we just would never get out of there.. she was about 6 at the time... She's 20 now and has a kid of her own.. Still the same little brat though!

High beautiful girl and I know you are proud.
Blink your eye and you will at her daughters ring ceremony.
Blink your eye again and rug rats will be calling your kids granny and Paw Paw.
The last one is hard to get your head wrapped around that your babies are grandparents.
Cherish every moment.

I've had the pleasure of meeting this young lady. And not only is she pretty but she is smart and respectful. You done good my friend.

She's a doll. Even from a picture you can tell she has a lot of personality. That boyfriend looks lackluster by comparison, tell her she can do better! lol

Beautiful young lady and I know you're proud of her. We took in a young man in HS back in the 80's. Parent's were divorced. Dad wanted no part of him and mom was too busy courting anything that would sleep with her. It was a real job to do as well. Went on to college and is now a Baptist minister with two sons of his own and doing well . ( I tried to convert him with no luck). :lol2: :lol2:
