Hey ya'll .....

The snakes are real spotty. There are some real big areas with no snakes at all. I happen to live in an area with snakes. But they are all rattlers who by theory will let you know that they are there. No Cotton Mouth or Copperheads. And they are smaller. Most are maybe 2 foot long. A 3 footer is considered a real big one. A 4 footer is extremely rare.

Rattle snakes don't bother me much. Step on there head pull off the rattles and kick them out of the way.
The only time I'd step on ones head is by accident, ,then I'd be looking around for help before I took another step..

I have seen two different old cowboys just reach out and stomp on a rattlesnake's head with the heel of his boot. Not me. I am a shovel or 22 pistol man. I have killed a couple with rocks but if I step on their head there isn't much life left in them.

Having lived with all of them, rattlesnakes don't bother me much. Most of them leave you alone. I have flat stepped on them before without them even buzzing. Copperheads bother me because they don't buzz. At least the cottonmouths come after you so you know they're there.

Rather have the grizzlies and wolves than the serpents.

I have snakes. Wolves are about 30 miles away as the crow flies. And if the environmentalists were to get their way they would reintroduce grizzlies. Locally we would just as soon have all three on the endangered species list.
