4-0 for your fighting Illini! What did you say? The best start since 1951? I know it feels great as a fan. Time to buy some tickets to Pasadena ... with luck to meet the Ducks. Ducks just got done beating up on a mistake filled Arizona team (it's 11pm left coast time), but the Ducks defense looks suspect, we'll see.

With luck one of our teams will make it to the rose bowl.

LSU should be #1 with they way they man handled West Virginia, Oklahoma struggled, didn't see any of the Bama game, but we'll see how it shakes out.

Kathie, I heard on ESPN that there's a little talk about Boise State getting an invite to the Big 12!? The interim president of the Big 12 sounds like he is really making an effort to not only save the Big 12 but keep it strong.

Maybe this should have been a "grab bag".

Thanks, Alan. I was at a get together for my wife's work so didn't see or hear much of it. Paper this morning says the running game looked good but the passing game wasn't so hot. Defense wasn't nearly as fired up as last week but got the job done when they had to. Read where W. Michigan is picked to win their conference so they can't be too bad a team. Last week was a big, emotional win for this program so maybe there was a bit of a hangover from that. It happens. Good news is we won two tough 3-point games the past two weeks that in years past we probably would have lost.

Heard some of the post game call-in show on the way home and you'd thought we'd lost by 50. I swear to God Illinois fans have got to be some of the whiniest fair weather fans on the face of the earth. Embarassing, but I guess there's those types everywhere. Not making reservations for Pasadena just yet but I'm still hopeful. 4-0 is OK by me no matter how we got there.
