We do have an incumbant in our district that I see at the auctions a whole lot...buying roping calves. I sometimes wonder when he's ever doing what he's elected to do. I outbid him once just for grins (not from him, I'll guarantee). Dumba$$ thing to do, I know...but for some reason his swagger got on my last nerve that day. And, I got a very nice calf in the process. Hey, sometimes a girl's just gotta have fun!

Pretty, pretty calves, Alice...wonder how many do you keep at one time, and how long do you keep them?

The other calves in the picture are heifers and are now out in the big pasture. We'll keep as many as we can afford to keep and afford to take really good care of. Right now we have 15 animals and don't want anymore, altho something might come along that peaks our interest. The pasture, since the rain, can handle a lot more...but we don't want to stretch ourselves financially thin with the care and the possibility of another dry spell.

Either way it was interesting to read about. And the phrase as you have it is the one that has been popular for a generation. None work for me personally though, I can not remember how to spell them and would never attempt to pronounce them.
