Thanks for the comment! That's what I thought. He seemed to IMO have good depth if chest and nice front angulation. He was to short in body length for my liking. He was thin but had good looking muscling. He had nice feet no weird hoof issues. His legs were huge and big boned. He had a good gate no limping. He was slight in the rear but he was underweight maybe just needed some more food? His eyes were nice no cloudy or pink eye. He was docile and wanted pet by me. There's your newbie observation... I do love Hereford cattle!frieghttrain":3qfm1v6b said:Not bad. But then again I don't have a great eye for cattle.

To be honest, his rear ain't that bad and I've seen much worst bulls with no azz than this one.cfpinz":1n3cd5hr said:If you cut him in half, the front half ain't bad. The rear half leaves a lot to be desired, reminds me of a lot of black angus bulls - just with a different paint job.
Now the Hereford bull in your avatar, that's a different story.

. I agree. He isn't my type but is better than at least 75% of the polled Hereford bulls that I've looked at. The old adage that " When you breed the horns off you breed the hindquarters off is still very much true.Muddy":2c1vgl0u said:To be honest, his rear ain't that bad and I've seen much worst bulls with no azz than this one.cfpinz":2c1vgl0u said:If you cut him in half, the front half ain't bad. It's hard to find a good polled Hereford bull but tons of junky & skinny Hereford bulls left intact just because they're registered. This bull may be ugly but hes no skinny and azzless.elkwc":2uentq1y said:. I agree. He isn't my type but is better than at least 75% of the polled Hereford bulls that I've looked at. I don't think that Elkwc is bullshytting on polled Herefords. I've seen more good horned Hereford bulls than good polled hereford bulls here. Problem is that most folks didn't want horned bulls. You have to sort out all junk Hereford and Angus bulls to find a good bull.Alan":2ua557s4 said:elkwc":2ua557s4 said:. I agree. Elk, that is complete :bs: , people breed the azz off of cattle, all breeds. Plenty of good looking Polled Hereford Bulls out there, just as there is plenty of POS angus out there. Horns don't have anything to do with muscle!
. Muddy my views also. I have looked at hundreds of polled Hereford bulls over the last 3 years. Most of those I've found good enough for a commercial herd have been priced from 7-20 thousand. And the majority have had horned bloodlines up close. As one polled breeder told me when I asked where the heavy muscled bulls were he told me he had for sale. These are them, they are heavy muscled for a polled Hereford. And I agree about the angus bulls. Good muscled, structurally sound bulls are hard to find in either breed. I have seen several good horned bulls. But want a polled bull.Muddy":341i770k said:I don't think that Elkwc is bullshytting on polled Herefords. Please tell me where all of these good bulls are in a price range a commercial breeder can afford in today's market.Alan":5e3uuox3 said:elkwc":5e3uuox3 said:. I agree.
