hereford bull cross with a beefmaster

i would like to know if i breed a registered hereford bull with a registered beefmaster would the calf be an f1. :?:

Yes as SF stated but why would you want to as beefmaster is a 3 cross of good old Bramer,Shorthorn and Hereford.

i have brangus cows and a herefoerd bull and a few brahman but i have one beefmaster that was my sons show calf so i just run her with the rest of the cows.but i had this guy telling me that the calf would not be an f1. so i was double checking to make sure so i could shut them up.

I'd just let it slide, if I were you. Technically, you're correct. But he's not the only person in Texas that considers F-1's to be only Brahman x Hereford first generation crosses. It's getting to be a common definition among cattlemen who don't keep their nose stuck in a genetics textbook all of the time. You'll probably never convince him any differently. And what do you have to gain?
