We all have read about how net wrap accumulates in the rumen. Maybe some of you have experienced it first hand.

I take my wrap off before I feed. Maybe it is people that grind hay with feed that don't. I do not know.

Anyway

Would net wrap made from hemp work?

Would net wrap made from hemp be digestible?

Is anyone working on using hemp as a net wrap?

I have no idea about the netwrap option, but I do know that there are studies going on now about using hemp as a forage source. I think the biggest concern is the cannabidnoid content and how long it stays in the animal.

I'd use sisal twine if it were cheaper, and didn't come apart like a Chinese watch...it just ain't ideal for round bales, even dry stored..

I like the idea of cattle safe bet wrap. (We are like net wrap Nazis. It's to hard to get out of spreaders and axle seals, but I sure wouldn't go back to twine) Just remember if it will break down in a cow's stomach, it will probably break down when storing hay out side.
