Last year I bought a registered Hereford bull - so I'm guessing that's why I received a copy of Hereford World in the mail a few days ago.

I thumbed through it expecting to find a publication saying how great herefords are and how bad other breeds are. Boy was I wrong. I've read this issue cover to cover. Yes it has info on many hereford farms and sales, but this one issue had articles on:

1. EPD explanation from a calving ease standpoint
2. Article on cold weather affects on birth weight of calves
3. Two articles on calving tips - keeping the calves alive in cold weather and many other tips. (Did you know that 34% of calves are born between 6 a.m. am 10a.m.?) I didn't
4. An article on a farm that is environtmentally friendly.

All of the above were from the standpoint of being a better cattle person, not a better hereford person. All Free??? I am impressed. And no, I'm not a hereford person. I only bought a hereford bull to make black baldies.

If anyone is interested, you can call (816) 842-8878 and they will send you a free issue.

Thanks cypress.

I thought you were running an A-Plus bull? You must be running more head than I thought
