All,
I have a really nice registered black Angus heifer that is around 8 months old. When I went out to feed this morning she was one of the last ones to come up and had a limp on her front right foot. I don't see any cuts/scarring anywhere on the leg but it does look a little swollen. I've got a pen and squeeze chute I can get her up in if need be. Should I try and take a look at it now or wait to see if it gets better or worse? She's a really great heifer and I hope to keep her for a long time so I by no means want to hold back from any treatment she may require. My first thought is there may be something stuck in her hoof but I couldn't see anything. Any thoughts/ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
