Heifer Age

I purchased a heifer at the auction, black angus. She is 375.lbs, is there any rough formula to figure her age out?

Assuming a lot of variables here but this is an idea:

Birth = 85 lbs.
ADG = 2.5
375 lbs - 85lbs = 290
290 / 2.5 = 116
116 days old = almost 4 months old (3.87)

What's her overall condition? Does she look like she was taken care of? Or was she sold for a reason? Give us alittle more info if you could.

Although sidney411 looks to have it narrowed down pretty good.

it would depend on her frame size, body condtion, etc.. but imo, your calf could be anywhere from 4 months to 8 months old.

Overall condition excellent. It was a retired farmer selling off the last of his herd.

for her weight.id say she is 4 to 5 months old.early weaned off her momma.an her momma may have been bred back.so they split them.scott

That young of an age it is hard. When they are at the yearling and two year old stages look at the teeth.
