Beautiful day so decided to snap a few pics- then my camera batteries went dead.. :roll: But I got a couple...


Nothing better than 40-50 degree temps, sunshine, and calves hitting the ground... I hope this is what Heaven is like when I get there...

This reminds me of our house- Grandma babysitting 3 little ones...

Good old God's Country- the weather can change at a minutes notice...Last night rain- then this AM Pea Soup fog (which means we should get a good rain about June 19th)...When I fed at 8 this morning it was hard to find cows let alone calves- but I weighed and tagged what new ones I found.. Now another prediction of cold and snow to end the week...

Then as I went out for another run thru about 11AM - it was eerie as the fog lifted.. Looked like the ground was on fire...


Almost looked like smoke coming off the feed grounds around the cows...


There was enough visability that I could sit in the office and drink coffee and watch 013X (W C R Celtic Beauty 013X #16769947) as she had her calf under the birthing tree... I think we've had more calves born under this tree then anywhere- and its right where we can look out the kitchen window or my office window and see whats happening.. Grandma Bobbie and the Grandkids have watched many a calf born there!
You can still see the eerie fog lifting off the summer fallow field behind them..
 
Wonderful pictures! Milk River, Montana country. I wonder if heaven will be this exciting! Going to be hard to beat the trials and tribulations of the struggles and challenges of mortal existence. I am not excited about exchanging my work boots with good ole cow manure on them for a pair of sandals (or as my brother calls them, Jesus Creepers).
 
Nice pictures!... Today started out great here, T shirt weather, I was burning grass, then the wind picked up and rain came and had traces of slush in it.. it is clear now though.

I have a picture of a fall tilled field after a split pea soup foggy morning and the sun coming out and hitting it, it was spectacular to see the whisps of steam coming off the field

inyati13-- maybe the Good Lord will give us an exemption and we can keep our boots... I've already told my friendly mortician that I want them to go with me... ;-)

greybird- It is lovely but sometimes challenging country... Tonight the Canadians are sharing a blizzard with us... So far all we have had is 40 mph winds and a little rain-- but the temp is dropping and between now and Saturday they say we could get 3 inches of wet snow- and temps down barely above zero ... Luckily my 13 year old Grandson doesn't have school tomorrow so is going to help me with the calving for a couple of days... :)
