A local farmer passed away a couple of weeks ago and had it in his will to sell all of his cattle once he is gone. Dickson Regional Livestock Center (Dickson, TN) is having a special sale today with over 200 cows (most all between 4-6). Going to look around and hopefully haul some back with me. The wife and Grandbabies will be joining me to keep me from getting to carried away at the sale!!

What time is the sale?

I used to buy at Dickson. Hadn't been there in years. I wasn't sure it was still open.

A lot of changes in Dickson... for the better I might add!! Riley Bros. now owns the sale yard and probably buy a majority of the cattle at their Monday sales. They have spent some money refurbing the place. I market a lot of my cattle there and am very pleased.

What are the cows? If I was needing some I would have come over.
I believe that they are mostly BA. One of the owners of the yard called me earlier this week to tell me about the sale... not sure how well they advertised it.

I didn't know Riley's owned it, I knew they bought alot there though. I buy at there barn in Ledbetter KY.

I wound up at that sale, I was originaly going to the bull sale in Cookville then found out whose cattle they were and wanted a few of his registered Angus, even called at 8am and was told the registered animals were there so i headed that way only to find out they were not there, so watched a little of the sale then just got home early.
Tn Cattle Man did you get anything bought there?

Don't post his name, but is the previous owner still alive?
From his post I would assume he is not if it was in his will to sell them when he was gone.

There were some very nice cattle there and they were bringing some hefty prices... I ended up buying a couple of 6 mo bred heifers, but that was it.
