what do you put on the bottom of your head gates to stop cows from slipping we have boards bolted down and the a old snowmobile track nailed to the boards for traction

There is only dirt in the chute at the head gate. The cows go into the head gate and are trapped. They have never slipped. I guess I am confused with your question. Twice a year I run them through to work them.

we run them throught everyday (breeeding, needling, dehorning, castarating) i am just wondering what people use to keep them from slipping because they slip all the time unless something is there for traction

We put a loaderbucket full of gravel down on the ground of the squeeze, the more coarser gravel (there's a name with it...pit-something, can't think of it right now) and tamp it down. A bucket below the floor, then one on top of the floor. But that's since the squeeze's outside. still, it works good.

Glover, if you're headgate is indoors, thick rubber matting might work, the corregated/grippy stuff.
