haylage

We ran out of round bales, the grass is not up here yet, ( too cold) I have bought and will pick up haylage in round bale form in white wraps. It is sudan grass , sorgum and some other grass. Can I put this in the round bale feeders? Will it cause bloat? :help: I have never
had to use haylage before. Any info would be greatly appreciated. ;-)

I feed haylage bales in a round bale feeder all the time, just have a big enough tractor to dump them in. I use a skidloader and sometimes it gets a little scary. I have never had a problem with bloat.

Never had a problem with bloat either. Have had problem with some overvealous girls sticking their heads in a ring and getting it penned by one of those heavy rolls. Its good feed.

yes put the baleage bales in the hay rings.same as you do with grass round bales.

:lol: It has worked out ok. The girls like it, and it does fit in the hay ring. ;-)
