I can get really high quality coastal for 30 a roll stored inside until this fall. It was off of a final cutting this year and the hay turned out great. Most of it is being square baled for horses but I can get some if I want it. I had to feed tubs this winter because my hay was junk. It just seems like feeding this high of quality could eliminate the need for tubs to an extent.

It will depend on wether you are feeding dry or lactating cows, weather, how high quality the hay actually is, and how much you feed them.

visted a buddy of mine yesterday an we was talking bout fert.an he had priced the blend he uses on his meadows an it was $600 a ton.an he puts out 400lbs to the ac,so that would be $120 an ac.he said the litter would be $160 an ac for 4 tons spread once.

You need to test it to make sure exactly what it is. I have seen some really great looking hay that only yielded 8% which won't be nearly enough for lactating cows.
