I have a 16 foot flatbed trailer with side rails. I have to travel about 100 miles for 4 by 5 bales (thanks to the drought). I'm wondering how many bales I can haul in a load and what would be the best way to stack it on the trailer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We almost had some rain today. Close but no cigar. This is really getting old.

You can't haul enough on a trailer that size to be worth driving 100 miles n
I agree. At the most you could get 5. 3 long ways and 2 on top if the trailer could handle that.

You'd be better off to pay someone to haul it for you.

Thanks for the responses. I believe the GVWR is 4500 lbs. I guess that limits me to three and a couple good tie down straps.

My grandpa use to haul 11 4x4s on a 16 footer with rails. He cut some poles and put them across the trailer on top of the rails and sat the hay on the poles. 4 on each side and 3 on the top.
