hay forks

just put out hay for the cows an the rear hay forks busted.the right side fork busted off.as the hay was being picked up.tore out the right side of the forks.the side brace just splitt plumb off.even ripped the flat steel braces.lucky that it didnt tear up the 3point lift arms.i doubt it can be welded back togather.what do yall think.

If you can step across it, you can weld it.

sorry dont have a dig cam.i think it can be fixed.but by the time you get the heavy pipe an cut the jagged edge off.an hire a welder i can buy new forks.

Big bull I bet I could make like a dirt dobber and patch it all back up. You'd be surprised. A cutting torch and a rose bud can persuade just about anything. Once I put it back into shape and welded it out, I'd add some more gusset.

It is just a hay mover. It is not like it is a brand new truck at a body shop. Besides, a good clean patch is a challeng. It kind of add character to it also.

You'd be surprised at the old timers who buy brand new equipment and then bring it to me on the trailer asking for more bracing.

I just finished building a set of forks for the front of my MF271 and ALO quick disconnects on the FEL. Couldn't find anything that I would not have to modify to fit this quick disconnect so I just built one. I will get pics soon and post them. Cost me around $300 to build as opposed to $500-$600 and still had to be modified.

the bale fork is still connected to the outside upright.and the break is a jagged break.if it was a clean break id say it could be welded back togather.i know a jack legg welder an when i get time i may let him play with it.i can get new forks for $150.they are light weight but they will work.

I've got an old 7600 Ford with a Dunham-Lehr loader with the single center bucket cylinder. Needed a set of forks for it but couldn't find anything that wouldn't need an extra bracket. There's just something wrong with spending $500+ and having to modify it before you can use it. Went to a sale last spring, bought an old set of D-L forks (heavy, solid type) for $200, came home pinned them on the tractor - no wrench, no hammer, no welder. I was so happy I almost wet myself.

Yeah, I'm looking for a set of pallet forks for mine. I built the hay fork in a way I could add pallet forks to it when I find them.

El Putzo beat me to them. When I stopped by to pick them up and found out, got so mad I backed into dun's rubbermaid tank.

Backing into the tank wouldn't have been so bad if you hadn;t made me hand push your truck to get it started

With no battery in the truck I had to get it rolling to get it to the cliff. Would have been nice if you hadn;t kept your foot on the only thing in the truck that worked, the brakes!
BTW, I found you a truck. No bed or rear axles, but that doesn;t matter since there's no engine or tranny in it.

That sound perfect, the wife could use a new truck. Wonder if they'll take a trade, I've got one missing the seat and steering wheel, perfect for the man whose lost his ass and doesn't know which way to turn.

You need to introduce yourself to the local scrap yard. I picked up a set for a 100 bucks.
