Hay cutter

Does anyone manufacture a hay cutter that cuts directly behind the tractor?

Not sure why you would want to cut hay behind the tractor rather than to the side....but the center pivots would cut behind if you had to. https://www.google.com/search?q=discbin ... VsHhWv71yM:

A Vermeer TM850 will mow behind the tractor and swing to the right, but I would like to have a center pivot, just aint got the $$..

Just about any cutter that swings out to cut will cut behind a tractor in the transport position. :2cents:

I had a Vemeer TM700, it would cut behind the tractor, BUT! drive line clatter was ridiculous, I mean Loud!! that's with a cab too. The TM 850 sounds the same, it has a swivel gearbox, some other brands also have some sort of SGB too.

I think there is a reason for them cutting of to the side of the tractor. You might think on that a bit.

I first thought that would be Great, Just cut 1st round behind tractor, No need to back-cut that 1st round, I went about 500 feet, saw that tractor was riding down way too much, a lot more than a Bush Hog type mower. But it is handy around power poles, etc. Just swing it in & back out. and Keep on Truckin

If you had that much noise the driveline has a problem or is out of time. I had a TM-800 that made no more noise in the transport position than it did when swung out. I now have NH 7330 with swivel gearbox & 2 pt hitch that doesn't make any different sound either way.
I make the 1st round with it behind the tractor then swing out and cut the rest. Most of the time this leaves very little uncut hay. If it does then I will back cut it. Very seldom have to back cut unless it's Johnson grass.

old man here,used a bush hog to cut his hay...cut part of the right side out of it.. It worked,but the hay was a little ragged..
