I understand this means nothing to allmost all of you, but i just feel like telling about today. My dad and me do constuction work building and excavating, we are trying to make the cattle business full time and are about there but we needed just one more big job and we got it today, My mom found out in november she has lymphoma and we have no health insurance and our work has been very slow for the last few years, so i have been having to sell extra cattle to help pay doctor bills and we really needed another big dirt job, we have been praying and mom is getting better and today we bid a job and have the lowest bid on building a water detention basin, so for the next 3 months i am going to be sitting on a dozer or driving a dump truck hualing sevarel thousand loads of dirt, so i may start missing a few sales but when this job is done i will be a full time farmer and not have to worry about work off the farm for the rest of my life, I feel very blessed and have to give all the credit to God for everything he has been doing for me and my family. That's all just felt like telling about my day, hope everyone elses is good to.

That's great news about your mom getting better and the job. Are you selling the business or keeping it as backup income? I'd be real nervous about putting all the eggs in one basket

Congrats to everything especially your mom    :tiphat: .... I am with hooknline on the putting all eggs in one basket. I wear many hats Cattle Farmer/Grain farmer but my primary that I wear is the title of Arborist. My grandpa always said if you can work multiple jobs do it it never hurts. I could live very well off my grain farming $$$ and not fool with cattle or my business but I REFUSE to put all my eggs in one basket.

That's great news about your mom and congrats on getting the job! I'm with the others about keeping an extra door open just in case. I'm sure the Lord will continue to bless your family.

Thank's everyone, i didn't go into everything, we will still have our trucks and equipment and not be affraid to use them if we need to. we also buy and sell boats and make good money on that, and i buy cattle for sevarel people and will be doing more of that. I just mean that if we go a year without a big job we will be ok, and i will be getting to do more of what i really like. i agree with all of you being able to do alot of different things is very important.

I'm always happy to hear about success stories. To many people fold and give up and choose to be victims. " I can't be successfull because______ happened to me".
It's a real pleasure to hear about people that worked through it and made it happen for themselves. I'm a firm believer that God helps those who helps themselves.
