Hang on to your wormer!!

The UV thing should come as no surprise. UV has been used for a long time to kill bacteria in food service sector.

I am surprised the article used the words "kill" and "cells" since coronavirus doesn't consist of cells and isn't 'alive' to begin with.

GB, exactly..
Also important, is at what concentration was it effective.... if it kills you before it 'kills' the virus, then it's not much good

Well I hope they DO find something that works and fast.

Worst part is when they do find something so many will only just miss out. My grandmother died from leukemia when my dad was 5, a few years later and she would have lived a long life.

A friend of mine uses my place to work calves. He was over this morning and said that Tractor Supply had orders to remove all of the Ivermectin from the shelves. The only reason I can think of is that they are asking for it back to convert to possible human use.

More likely they're taking it off the shelves to protect people from themselves. Most of the drugs that have been floated out as possible treatments are long-shots to actually work, but the general public misinterpret the data and run with it. That's why we have people consuming pool cleaner. TSC lawyers have probably advised them to take the ivomec off the shelves before some moron drinks a cup of it.

I have had enough pour on spilled on my hands that I should be treated for life. Also long story but had a needle get knocked off the syringe and a full dose of injectable shot in my face. Mouth open, some down the throat, in the eyes. Didn't hurt me. Well it made the eyes sting and I wouldn't recommend it. I don't have worms. Called my vet. He said it wouldn't hurt you.

My Dad injected himself on the back of the hand with Ivomec back in the late 80's/early 90's. Ended up with a golf ball sized knot on his hand for a bit. May be coincidence, but I swear he put on 50 lbs in the next few years.....

This is a bit long winded but explains how it works. Of course the virus is isolated to do the testing, real world in humans is a different story. And it does mention catching it in the early stages to work.
