hair loss after maggots on newborn calf

We have a newborn calf that had maggots on it. We got rid of the maggots and the calf is growing, but he has a patch of skin that is raw and when washing the calf to apply medicine, it looks like the hair is just peeling off. Any ideas?

should scab over & heal , but it may never get hair back. had one like that last year

Quit washing it. Just keep the flies off of it and keep it from being infected. It will eventually start growing the hair back but takes a very long time. Sometimes still looks different afterward.
