last year we took some cattle to a sale, first time. We paid a fellow to clip them. I thought he did a terrific job, but another person there (who knows) said that the cattle were clipped "like show-steers" as opposed to heifers and bulls.
What does that mean? Any help would be appreciated.

im assuming these were some type purebred if your going to the trouble to clip them. we usually just trim the long hair off the head and cut the tail hair even. went to a sale 2 weeks ago and they had body clipped some(clipped all hair all over)they looked terrible. to clip one for show condition is a lot of clipping and im not sure it makes a difference at a sale.
