In Dec 2009 our area was bombarded by huge hail, wrecking everything in it's path. It took awhile for things to recover. In my 16 year of staying here we have had hail once so you can imagine my shock when the hail pelted down again on Monday afternoon. Not neary as big as Dec's but still damaging.
The hail storm disappering in the horizon. I was a bit late with the camera as we were shovelling hail off the rooves and running after wet and hurt birds. One thing I notice about houses here is they can't take a huge weight like hail - imagine if it snowed :shock: . Notice the steam rising off the ground as the hot vapor mixed with the cold air.
What is over of some lettuce. As cash crops I plant lettuce(endives, butter, fancy leaf-red & green), celery, herbs, spring onions, garlic etc. All damaged but a lot of the plants will recover so not all is lost and thank goodness for the small dairy and calves I have :D .
Every cloud has a silver lining :? (must be the Nitrogen that was sent to us).
The cloud 'with the silver lining' approaches as the sun sets. We had 1/2 " of rain later that day.
Another shot of cloud, notice the thorn tree branch in the forefront of pic - Camel Thorn, has the most beautiful structure as well as thorns.
