Had a great lunch today

I had to meet with a landowner that I'm leasing land from today to sign the paperwork. He takes me to some hole in the wall Chinese place that a friend of his owns.
They brought out 5 large portions of different entrees. A flank steak with sesame flash seared dish, a pounded pork dish that was breaded and fried, and egg drop soup with beef and shrimp, a lobster dish that looked to have about 3 lobsters in it, and a dish of shrimp that had a soft breaking on it and a sauce that tasted and looked like candy. Unbelievable food

We had a great conversation of both of our expectations, long term goals, etc.
I learned a lot about him even though he is quiet and doesn't talk much. And I regaled him with stories of snakes, gators, and fishing.
Looks like this is going to be a good match. In fact he wants to invest in more land just for me to run cows on.
Neat guy, and seems to be a good man to have like agreements with.
 
Can't beat that. Maybe y'all should meet at least once a month at the Chinese place, for a progress report.
 
Let's just say that honesty and ethics are paying off. Got a line on an adjoining 30 acres of pure pasture I'm going to be working on getting also. Different landowner but friends with the first.

you just cant beat good food an conversation,an picking up a lease on some land to boot.hope you can lease the other 30acs.
 
Had an old man tell me if you take care of what you have you'll never have to hunt land, the landowners will hunt for you. Sounds like your living proof.
 
Hook I would move slow on this deal. That way he might take you back to this fine eatery to encourage you to eventually make a decision. ;-)
 
I just got word I got the other adjoining piece. And it has facilities in place. Just needs a Headgate

time to buy a squeeze chute on the dolley.so you can move from pasture to pasture.
 
That's in the works already.
It's a good thing my regular business has picked up. I've been spending some dough latley. Loaning from one business to another. I bought all the med, implant and tagging supplies already for the first year too
 
Why is it that my landlords don't take me to lunch? I just rented another 100 acres next to an 80 that I have had for the last 5 years or so. They just gave me an address to mail the check to. No fancy lunch, heck not even a hotdog...... I guess I need to deal with a little higher class of landlord.
 
You're not schmoozing right Dave. Gotta talk them up, make them comfortable with their decision, then slip in how much you enjoy good food.
 
how ya buying enough cows to stock it..i culled so hard i got waaay more land than cows right now..but changing the ratio is a pretty good investment
 
Well I made and sell a DVD on hammer use. Home depot carries it now. And I sell plasma.
 
im not thinkin either of them is gonna work out for ya..specially if one person happens to buy both..

after the 2 days of stupidity today im feeling wore out..its alway the day after the day after thats the worst..today is the day. my hand is still so swollen i cant see my knuckles but it dont hurt so im guessin it aint broke

On a side note, I'm blown away how things have snowballed.
From 5 acres an a hobby 5 years ago to 80 acres signed for as of today. And more coming. Hopefully this bodes well For the future. Hopefully
I'm not getting in over my head
