so my pc was running slow , I bought the 5 year support plan. looked up what I thought was dell support . you know when you do that they take over your pc to fix it. they were going to town .
ops have you taken your pc out of the country ?

we have 2 men here that can get the hackers out BUT hacker is not included on your plans . we have a basic plan for 398.00 that would take care of you .

I got a very bad feeling so I turned off my pc and unplugged it .
called a friend and he went on my pc and took suspect things out .
SO BEWARE WHO YOU THINK YOUR CALLING
if there are any pc gurus on here should I do more ? feeling dumb in texas . don't type so easy thanks for your patience
 
I am not pc guru by any means but I know the guy that does my it work set up a big firewall to the point you literally have to give each website permission to come up and passwords for every freaking thing is how my system is but not sure if I can be hacked or not. He also put a strong firewall on my email to the point a lot of customers emails go to a spam folder and I have to verify its their email. I do not trust anyone to take over my computer over the phone so I opt to just pay him to fix it when something's wrong and never get the service plans but I do believe in getting the virus protections offered though and update constantly. I am not trying to be racist but calling on my line to another country in India is not my idea of customer service nor can I be sure they won't sell my info or use it I mean they are in India what can I do to them if they are dishonest ?? Just how I think when it comes to stuff like that I hope it helps. I have bank acct info my employees info on the computer and various other important data and my way has seemed to work so far. I would suggest using angies list or polling people asking who is a reputable it person near where you live. :2cents:
 
Which is why I do all my banking face to face, never use a credit card in the internet, never store personal info on my hard drives and never even think of responding to an email that I do not immediately recognize - I delete without opening - and even then you are at risk.

People are conditioned to think the internet and the computer is a safe way to do business. It is not, has never been and will not in my lifetime, ever be safe for business or personal business.

Even the biggest budget security systems can be broken

No matter who you are you are at risk - never been a firewall or a security system that cannot be broken in to.

I've never seen an instance where the computer owner called a scammer--usually one will call you, claiming to be from Microsoft, your internet provider or even your ph company.
Never give remote access to anyone you can't positively verify. If you think your computer is been exploited or the software has been changed, physically take it to a reputable computer shop in your town. Make sure, whoever looks at your computer is aware of what happened, but I wouldn't tell them exactly what information your are concerned about--your financials for instance. It can get pretty involved if the scammers got very far along in their scam. Changes in things like your Domain Name System address (dns) can be deeply rooted, and even if your antivirus removes a bug, there is sometimes no guarantee that it doesn't re-install itself next time you boot up.
