Not sure what is going on with this calf. Although he seems normal and is growing normal, something seems weird. First, his mother seems to run to his side anytime i go near him. That usually means she thinks things arent right. This calf always has his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. Right as i took this picture, he pulled it in a bit, but its still showing a little. Its not a fluke that i caught him with his tongue out a few times, its always out. Doesnt look swollen or hurt. He's been this way the day he hit the ground. I call him Grumpy Calf...wonder if they can get the same disorder that grumpy cat had...?

Myabe sticking his tongue out is him making a commentary or expressing an opinion

I had a BWF bull calf like that a couple years ago, just like your describing. He sucked it in and was normal by the time he was two and a half months old. Don't know what caused though. B&G

His tongue is too big to fit in his mouth. I always smile when I see them with their tongue sticking out after sucking, they usually pull it back in after a few minutes.. it's like it was tired.

I had one cow that had a bit of a crooked nose, I think it looked that way because one side of her lower lip would never sit in it's proper position. she's 8 now and you don't notice it anymore

I think its because the mama cow doesn't want you around , and the calf is showing u what he thinks about you... :lol2:

We had a bull calf 2 years ago he was 100# out of a heifer and was a tough tough pull. Poor thing barely lived but he did and grew up nicely. He ended up a bottle calf and did this with his tongue. He couldn't seem to hold it straight, we always just figured it was some minor nerve damage from his delivery. He did outgrow his although it took quite a while. His name was dummy ... :)

Next time we have one processed i'm going to ask for the tongue...Hopefully it doesnt end up like the sweetbreads chefs charge and arm and leg for....Like eating gristle..

Here's my 4 month tongue hanger. It's never completely in his mouth. He's not bad now but when he was small it stuck out a good inch and a half. I guess his head is finally growing around his tongue. :D
