It is groundhog day. No groundhogs or shadows here today. 31 degrees, cloudy and spitting snow. But beings as groundhog day is a national holiday I am celebrating by taking some pork sausage out of the freezer. Not certain how I am going to cook it but it is "ground hog" thus what everyone should eat to celebrate this holiday.

Well, stupid Puxetawny Phill saw his shadow this morning... 6 more weeks of winter... Yeah, as if his shadow really matters.
We have gone from record cold and that snow /ice mess, to about an inch of rain and now going to have record high temps this next week or 2.
Then with our luck we will get a blizzard or something in March.

It's winter... take the good with the bad... Would rather it be colder this month and then warm up going into March when we get into serious spring calving... but then, mother nature doesn't listen to me...

My travels in Wyo led me to believe that spring can occur on July 3, summer on July 4, and fall on July 5. The rest of the year is either winter or has the potential to be winter. I always wanted to move to Ten Sleep when I retired but the wife didn't want to move that far from her family.

It is pretty around Ten Sleep, but they get to much snow. I think Thermopolis would be a nice place to retire in.

Our closest rodent is predicting an early spring. With -38 tonight it seems he is crazy. No matter the days are getting longer…at least now I drive to work in the daylight and return in daylight. But for this week it's cold🥶
