Help Support CattleToday:

Ok for now. We'll see what happens when the upriver water gets down here later tonight or tomorrow. My pond is swollen up twice it's size and I've been trying to get some work done to keep it draining better but haven't quite gotten everything in place to 'get her done'. I need to put in a bigger pipe on one of the crossings and then cut down the height of the backside wing dam too so water that makes it into the pond can get out. This one is ready to go in the crossing beside the same sized one that is already in there.

I expect this hydrograph to be updated by 6pm today to a higher level. I keep a close eye on this website nowadays. You can see how quickly that river came up and how much. That gauge is 6 miles downstream from me.

Not looking so cheery here.....again. Water is halfway up the pasture toward my shop
Watch out as your downhill, water still over the road. We have had a tremendous amount of water fall in the last year. The irony is tomorrow could be the start of the drought.

I hope it don't get too bad...I was not able to get to my aluminum boat this time. It's seat and styrofoam flotation block is sticking up out of the water just past the bench.

The old cow is standing there thinking not this again. Stay safe Greybeard.

Crested about 3am here, and is slowly receding. Started bringing everything back today, and putting it back where it goes. Road still closed in front of my place which meas a 30+ mile trip to town instead of 7-8 mile trip.

On a side note, I looked at the historical floods on this river. The majority of them it seems happen either in the last week of the month of the first week of the month, and in the last 10 years, 27-28-29th seem to show up way too often.
Coincidence I guess but also coincides often with full moon phase?

Hope everything works out , stay dry. That picture looks like better ground.

Not to me.
No matter where you live in this country Ma Nature has some nasty events on the books. IMO it's about deciding which poison you choose flood, fire, earthquakes, hurricane, tornadoes, blizzards the list is endless almost.

Yeah, but when ya live somewhere that 4 of those 6 are a distinct possibility, it gets old fast.

And now I know where all the empty vodka bottles are coming from..damn Ruskies!!

Or cranberries.

Maybe river boat gambling with dancing cows.

That might be the ticket for ole GB in that flat country.
He could start out with Party Barges.
Lot of pluses here close to Houston, before the reservation.
This has got lottery winner written all over it.
You would have to hide the curmudgeon owner operator from the public view.
He just wouldn't fit the PC views of today especially on camera.
