Hello all,
I'm looking for advice for overseeding ryegrass in 50 acres in the winter time in central Florida. We do not get a whole lot of rain in the winter and I'm looking at cheaper no till options for conserving what little moisture there is. I would be overseeding into fairly sandy soil in bermuda grass that hasn't been working in a few years if ever. I think I have narrowed it down to one of the Kasco's or the Greenscape conservation planter for my needs. I've also thought about using my disc for a light discing and buying an old john deere B drill or similar and using a heavy drag harrow behind this, possibly even making a train for one pass, might look ridiculous, but definitely the cheaper of the options. I'd also like to plant some food plots with it once a year 2 acres, but I have a rototiller and broadcast spreader that work fine for this, just trying to consolidate.
If anyone could chime in with advice or experience with these 2 pieces of equipment, that would be great, or any other pieces of equipment. There are not a lot of used grain drills around me so I will most likely have to travel out of state.
