Finally in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota the states now have authority to regulate their own wolf populations. USFWS had delisted them in the past but the delisting always gets over turned in court by tree hugger groups. The concern is that if states are not allowed to properly manage them then public sentiment will go against having them and alot more people will start poaching them. There are already a good number shot every year anyways, this way we may be able to have a trapping season or hunting on them. Where the wolves are in Michigan there is very little livestock but there are some depredations each year.
